The Herbarium

Ingredients Guide

Every Elora product begins with herbs you can recognise. Here's a look at the key botanicals we use, their benefits, and the traditions they come from.

Neelamari (Eclipta alba)

Ayurveda, across the Indian subcontinent

Known as the 'king of hair' in Ayurveda, Neelamari strengthens roots, darkens hair naturally, and helps calm scalp inflammation. Traditionally infused in coconut oil to promote thick, lustrous growth.

Hibiscus

Tropical Asia & Kerala gardens

Rich in amino acids and vitamin C, hibiscus petals condition the scalp, reduce breakage, and add natural shine. A classic Kerala remedy for preventing premature greying.

Aloe Vera

Arid regions of India

A deeply hydrating gel that soothes irritation, balances oil, and lightly firms the skin. Used in face washes and creams for its gentle, cooling moisture.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa)

South India, ritual use for centuries

A brightening and purifying herb with anti-inflammatory curcuminoids. In nalpamaradi soap it helps even tone and revive dull, tired skin.

Goat Milk

Traditional Indian homesteads

Naturally rich in lactic acid, fats, and vitamins. Gently exfoliates while moisturising, leaving a soft, creamy lather that suits sensitive and dry skin.

Kumkumadi Oil Blend

Classical Ayurvedic texts

A precious blend of saffron, sandalwood, and botanical oils renowned for imparting a radiant, even-toned glow. Used sparingly to nourish and brighten the face.

Nalpamaradi

Kerala Ayurvedic tradition

A four-tree bark formulation that brightens, lightly exfoliates, and improves texture. Traditionally used as a body treatment for glowing, even skin.

Kojic & Kaolin

Modern botanical skincare

Kojic, derived from fermented rice, gently brightens dark spots; kaolin clay draws out impurities without stripping — together in our signature treatment soaps.
